Mir Afzali, Eng.: Mass production of two new grades of polyethylene at Jam Petrochemical
With the efforts of trained and experienced experts at Jam Petrochemical Co., two new grades of polyethylene, with high added value, reached mass production.
According to the public relations department of Jam Petrochemical, Mir Afzali in a conference with IRIB reporting agency of Bushehr, said:  To realize the goals of “resistive economy”, and to reduce the secondary industries’ dependence on imports, and to increase the company’s competing ability in global markets, Jam Petrochemical, with the efforts of trained and experienced experts, has added the production of two new grades of polyethylene (having a high added value) to its agenda.  Caps and Closures and Yarn grade of polyethylene, have been produced at Jam Petrochemical, and are available for domestic and foreign customers.
The director of Jam Petrochemical stated that the most important characteristics of the Caps and closures grade are its mechanical properties, including satisfactory ESCR, adequate modules (dimensional stability), and its desirable characteristics in contact with food.  He added:  This grade is used to make bottle caps, medicinal, hygienic, and chemical materials.  Regarding the type and the amounts of additives used in this grade, he said: considering that polyethylene additives affect its properties in contact with food, international standards and restrictions have been observed.
Mir Afzali added: Yarrn grade of polyethylene has been produced at Jam Petrochemical for the first time in the country.  It is a high-consumption polyethylene product, especially in Asian countries, including China.  Its properties include high endurance and resistance to chemicals and biological elements.  Its main uses are in making ropes, fishing nets, and ….
