After several months at a standstill, Jam Petrochemical's high-density polyethylene 2 unit (HDPE2) has returned to production with the support of the Minister of Cooperatives, Labour and Social Welfare and following technical and operational work. By stabilising operating conditions and reaching 105 percent of nameplate capacity, it has taken an effective step towards bringing productive capacity back into use and protecting shareholders' interests.
According to the public and international relations office of Jam Petrochemical Company, the unit was brought on stream at a time when constraints in energy supply have made it difficult for many of the country's industries to keep operating.
In this, the support and follow-up of the Minister of Cooperatives, Labour and Social Welfare played an effective and decisive part in returning this valuable asset to the body of the country's retirees — an action that, while protecting the asset, has made it possible to bring its productive capacity back into use and to exploit it economically, and one that deserves appreciation and thanks.
Once the high-density polyethylene 2 unit (formerly Mehr) came into the Jam Petrochemical group, settling the unit's position and making the fullest use of its capacity became a priority in operational planning, and the process of preparation and start-up began with the technical, operating and management teams concentrating on it.
Within this framework, and with Dr Amir Akbari, Jam Petrochemical's chief executive, insisting that productive assets be brought into use and that existing capacity not be left idle, obstacles were removed and the necessary requirements met with determination — a process that led in the end to the start-up of HDPE2 and output at 105 percent.
This achievement is the result of coordination and effort by the company's staff, specialists and managers, and it strengthens Jam Petrochemical's production performance while increasing the economic return on the company's assets.
