According to Jam Petrochemical's public and international relations office
Among 287 industrial units assessed, Jam Petrochemical has been named a “green industrial unit of the country” — a national distinction that, for one of the large enterprises of the petrochemical industry, goes beyond an environmental title and speaks to the link between production, productivity and responsibility.
According to Jam Petrochemical's public and international relations office, the twenty-fifth national conference on green industry, mining and services was held today, Saturday 31 Mordad 1405, at the Department of Environment, with Mohammad Reza Aref, First Vice President, and a number of ministers, officials and senior managers of the country in attendance. Dr Amir Akbari, chief executive of Jam Petrochemical, was also present at the ceremony.
At the conference, and after the performance of 287 units had been assessed, Jam Petrochemical Company received the honorary statuette and the plaque of “green industrial unit of the country” — a title of particular significance given the nature of production processes in the petrochemical industry and the industry's wide-ranging environmental requirements.
When production and the environment stand together
The petrochemical industry is one of the country's strategic industries and a driver of its economy; an industry that, alongside creating added value, employment and foreign-currency earnings, also contends with complex production processes and wide-ranging environmental requirements. Seen in that light, Jam Petrochemical's place among the country's green industrial units is not merely the receipt of a statuette; it is the result of an approach that pursues production and environmental responsibility side by side.
For Jam Petrochemical this title is part of the company's path of development — a path on which capacity and production capability are increased while environmental requirements are observed, production is responsible and the future is kept in view.
From the standpoint of a commercial enterprise, this is precisely where the significance of the achievement shows itself. Environmental performance has today become one of the important elements of a company's standing in domestic and international markets, and winning the title of “green industrial unit of the country” can strengthen the reputational capital of the Jam brand alongside its production capability, the quality of its products and its position in world markets.
This title, unprecedented since Jam Petrochemical was founded, is the fruit of sustained effort by the company's chief executive, managers, specialists and staff, and the result of an approach that gives development meaning alongside responsibility — an approach showing that in the petrochemical industry green production is not a slogan but part of the path of sustainable development.
