Gohar Ofogh Industrial Park Development Petrochemical Company was founded in 1393 as the custodian and manager of the Styrene Park — the country's first petrochemical industry park — with the participation of four companies: Jam Petrochemical, Entekhab Polystyrene Petrochemical, Sadaf Persian Gulf Petrochemical and Kimia Sanaye Dalahou Petrochemical. The Styrene Park occupies a 40-hectare site in Phase 2 of the Assaluyeh petrochemical industries, and the country's four large styrene production projects are located within it.

The company's key activity is managing the supply and distribution of styrene monomer feedstock and the ancillary services required by the four projects in the park, together with the construction and operation of the infrastructure and facilities on 7 hectares of offsite (shared) land, which provide the ancillary services and shared requirements of those projects.

The company's principal operational activities — construction and operation of:

  • 10,000-tonne feedstock storage tanks and the transfer and distribution network
  • The Styrene Park central substation and the power distribution network required by the production units and offsite
  • The central control system and the metering and measuring equipment used to monitor and analyse the feedstock and the utilities delivered and received
  • The gas pressure reduction station and the distribution lines inside the park
  • The pipeline network and facilities transferring and distributing the ancillary services required by the four companies in the Styrene Park
  • Offsite operating infrastructure, including roads and roadways, street lighting and flood channels
  • The firewater pipeline network for the production units and the offsite firefighting systems
  • The network collecting and discharging industrial and sanitary effluent
  • Central peroxide storage warehouses
  • The non-industrial buildings and facilities the project requires

Projects within the Styrene Park:

  • Phase two of Jam Petrochemical, the Padjam Polymer Development project — annual capacity of 260,000 tonnes of ABS/Rubber
  • Entekhab Polystyrene Petrochemical Industries Development Company — annual capacity of 255,000 tonnes of EPS
  • Sadaf Persian Gulf Petrochemical Company — annual capacity of 135,000 tonnes of ESBR
