Kangan Polymer Development
Kangan Polymer Development Company, which is carrying out the PDH/PP project, is one of Jam Petrochemical's important strategic development projects. It was registered and founded on 1397/07/25 under registration number 532816, with the aim of building, commissioning and operating a plant and production line for propylene and polypropylene.
The project is being built on the south-eastern side of South Pars phases 22 to 24; the site was chosen for its access to the vast propane feedstock resources of the South Pars region. The shift of olefin units toward gas crackers, together with the expected rise in world demand for propylene, makes this project highly significant given the strategic nature of its product.
All preliminary studies comparing the technical and economic aspects of propylene production were carried out with a focus on the feasibility of building a third phase of Jam Petrochemical. These studies cover the purchase and transfer of technology for a 600,000-ton propylene unit using propane dehydrogenation (PDH) under UOP licence, and two 300,000-ton polypropylene (PP) units under BASELL licence, based on the existing Jam Polypropylene plant.
100 percent of this company's shares belong to Jam Petrochemical. The company is managed by Ali Ghasemzadeh.
